Myself and my 6 year old daughter came her for a short break of 3 nights before moving on to somewhere else for our road trip. As money is tight being a single parent I was a little apprehensive as to how this would go as it was one of the cheaper parks to go to. I chose it on price but also based on hearing that it is a smaller park as was anxious about the evening entertainment venue around being able to go to the bar, loo etc and being able to see my daughter on the dancefloor as I was on my own with her. His proved to be a good decision as the live lounge size was perfect! It was big enough for there to be enough seats for everybody and spacious enough for me to be able to nip to the bar and still see my daughter either on the dancefloor or the seat in order to keep her safe. Due to this, she really developed her confidence whilst at doniford.
Upon arrival after an 8 hour drive we were luckily upgraded from a standard to a prestige caravan which absolutely mad out weekend. It was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. As was the whole site! You really felt like you were on holiday at doniford bay as the sea is within touching distance from the park and we would take a small detour back to our caravan at the evening to watch the white waves crashing against the rocks. The entertainment was fine in the evenings, usual haven stuff which my daughter loved! and the staff were enthusiastic and energetic. The restaurant was good and very clean. Play parks were centrally located and ok. The crazy golf could do with updating. The pool was big enough for the size of the park with a couple of inside slides and a small connecting outdoor pool. The larger outdoor slides were lots of fun! The lovely small town of watchet is not far away with some cool pubs and there is a train line nearby with steam trains going into minehead. All in all this park is much better than I expected, it's not as all singing and dancing as some other haven parks but this is why we loved it more. I really had a sense of being on holiday with the peace and space to really chill out and relax, it was clean and all of the staff were fantastic!
